Titans State of the Franchise

With OTAs (Oragnized Team Activities) underway, there has been some major news come from the Titans camp.
1. The offense has changed. Reports have said that Offensive Coordinator, Dowell Loggains, is trashing the former OC's (Chris Palmer) playbook. There is a brand new offense that will be more of a run-first attack, which has been evidenced by interviews by Jake Locker and Chris Johnson, the additions of guard Andy Levitre, running back Shonn Greene, and tight end Delanie Walker, and by the drafting of guard Chance Warmack and center Brian Schwenke. This new offense is to be more effective in moving the ball down the field and scoring touchdowns. Chris Johnson will be responsible for moving the ball down the field with the help of his new offensive line, and the former Jet, Shonn Greene, will be pushing forward on short yardage situations for first downs and touchdowns.
2. A more effective offense. Defensive Coordinator, Jerry Gray, now has the assistance of the former New Orleans Saints' defensive coordinator, Gregg Williams. Williams is supposedly not going to be calling plays or making the major decisions; however, he is a consultant who will help shape the defense and make it more effective. The pass rusher will be more effective with his work. The cornerbacks are going to be playing more press coverage, as opposed to the zone coverage that they've been playing recently. This will prevent the opposing offenses from picking up first downs so easily. We are going to probably see formations with three safeties on the field, evidenced by cornerback Alterraun Verner learning to play free safety and by the additions of strong safeties George Wilson and Bernard Pollard. Look for this defense to make a lot more plays in 2013.
3. Jake Locker is going to have a good season. He is pretty much fully recovered from his left shoulder injury that hindered him in 2012. He has also looked really good in the OTA practices. Although these practices are simply practices without a pass rush, he is already showing improvement over his performance from 2012.
4. No player is safe. The Titans are going to cut some players that seemed to be important to the organization. During the spring, Matt Hasselbeck was cut and replace with Ryan Fitzpatrick, and on Thursday, long-time offensive lineman, Eugene Amano, was cut after missing all of last season due to injury. Marc Mariani and other fan favorites may be in trouble this offseason.
5. The Titans are ready to win. This organization has made major moves to improve over the offseason. The additions through free agency, the draft, and to the coaching staff are to get victories ASAP. The team appears to be continuing to attempt to improve the roster, as they have been in talks with the former Atlanta Falcons' defensive end, John Abraham. Look for him to be signed by a team within the next few weeks, and the Titans are a leading candidate to land him.
Please comment your thoughts on the team for this upcoming season.
